Why do Masons use the KJV?

In
John Salza's book, Masonry Unmasked, he
tells us: "Another significant authority used primarily in the
United States to supplement the teachings of Masonic ritual is
the Masonic Bible, which is made up of the Old and New Testament
(King James Version) and an extensive section on the dogmas
and ritualistic practices of the Craft. It is easily identified
by the prominent
Masonic symbol on the
cover and/or spine of
the book." (Masonry Unmasked, page 31, by J. Salza)
"What is so interesting," writes the commentator at catholicapologetics.net,
"is that this Luciferian Religion [
Freemasonry] has selected the
King James Version as its Bible of choice. Apparently Masons do
not see this version as any form of threat to their beliefs. This
is a very strong testimony as to why we should avoid using this
translation." [Brackets mine.]
But why, exactly, do Freemasons
prefer the KJV version? One reason, perhaps, has to do with the
name 'Jehovah'. The name "Jehovah is, of all the significant words of
Masonry, by far the most important. It is considered to be 'the basis
of our dogma and of our mysteries.'" (Masonic KJV Bible)
This name, 'Jehovah', appears seven times in the King James Bible of
1611, whereas the Catholic Rheims Bible, based on the Latin Vulgate of
Saint Jerome, omits the name completely. In the Lexicon of Freemasonry, where six pages
are devoted to an explication of the name 'Jehovah', we are told
that 'Jehovah' is allegedly the Hebrew form of the Greek name of
Deity, IAO.
Although the translators of the Catholic DR version of the Bible evidently
considered the name unessencial, as evidenced by the fact that it nowhere
occurs in the Catholic DR Bible, the Masonic edition of
the King James Authorized Bible
emphatically stresses, many times over, the great importance of the name
'Jehovah', as the following quotes from my edition of the Masonic KJV
Bible attest:
BURNING BUSH -
Q. What significance is attached to this term in Masonry?
A. Jehovah, the Hebrew title of God, is, of all the significant
words of Masonry, by far the most important. This name is
regarded as 'the basis of Masonic dogma and mysteries." In
the original Hebrew this name consisted of four letters, and
is designated by the Greek term Tetragrammaton, meaning
a four-lettered name. Because it was forbidden of the
Hebrews, as it is to a Mason, to pronounce it, it is also
called the Ineffable or Unpronounceable name' See Jehovah.
Since the Ineffable name was first communicated to Moses
out of the midst of a flaming fire from a 'Burning Bush'
wqhich was not consumed b the flames, the utterance of this
name by God himself is commemorated in the 'Burning Bush'
of the Royal Arch Degree. Recognizing the
fact that in all the systems of antiquity fire is adopted
as a symbol of Deity, the fire of the 'Burning Bush' is a
symbol of Divine LIght and Truth. The God represented thereby
is the one source of all Masonic LIght and truth, as
represented more fully in the higher degrees of Masonry.

value, known to but few, which was lost under certain
unfortunate circumstances. A substitute word for this

Q. What is the significance and use of this phrase?
A. This is the English rendering of the name which
the Great Architect, Jehovah God, directed Moses
to use when making known his commision to Israel
to lead them out of Egytian slavery to the Promised
Land. It signifies I am the Eternal who passes
not away. It is a significant word in the high
degrees of the York, American, and several other Rites.

[Lastly, it's hard to know if the Freemasons who report that King
James I was a Freemason are telling us the truth, but what we can
confirm is that there are indeed differences between the KJV and
the Catholic DR Bible, e.g., that there are
66
books in the
modern KJV,
whereas there are 73 in the DRV Catholic Bible,
that the name "Jesus Christ" occurs less frequently in the KJV,
that the name 'Jehovah' is not included in the DR Catholic Bible,
whereas it's included exactly 7 times in the KJV,
etc. These facts are beyond reasonable doubt. What occult meaning,
if any, those facts might have is another question.
In the original 1611 KJV Bible, the deutero-canonical texts were
not omited, but they were seperated from the body of the Bible,
or put on the back of the bus, so to speak, thus making it more
or less true to say that the Protestant KJV Bible, even the
earliest version, has 66 books,
even though it was only in later additions of the KJV that they,
whoever they may be, remmoved the deutero-canonical books
altogether, leaving only 66 books.
One hypothesis as to what happened with the original 1611 KJV
is that there were some Kabbalist cretins involved
in the production, not the least of whom would be King James,
a Freemason, according to several Masonic sources, as well as
Francis Bacon,
but most of
the scholars involved were no doubt sincere and dedicated
Christians, not Morrano
Jews, Freemasons, or Kabbalists.
These Christian scholars, who held to the
Christian belief that God is the truth, that truth is divine,
and that the Bible is not to be
tampered with,
would have recognized any non-occult, i.e., non-hidden tampering
with the text and sought to prevent it, so that, by and large,
the KJV
is an extraordinary and faithful translation -- not
because of the Kabbalists but despite their influence.
However,
since the Christian scholars were not occultists, they would not
recognize any occult, i.e., hidden, tampering, nor for practical
matters most dear them would any such tampering be critical in
that it would do nothing or near to change the surface meaning of
the text.
